SKU variant generator

Enter a base SKU plus dimensions like color and size — the tool builds every combination's SKU code and variant name. Copy the list or export a CSV.

Base & dimensions

The shared style code every variant starts from.

Option dimensions (up to 3)

Tip: write any value as “value=CODE” to force its SKU abbreviation, e.g. 藏青=NVY.

Naming rules that age well

Keep SKUs short (under ~30 chars), all caps, hyphen-separated, letters and digits only — no spaces, no symbols, no Chinese inside the code itself. Order dimensions from most to least stable (color before size, never put price or season in the code). The variant’s human-readable name can stay descriptive; the SKU is for scanners, pick lists and spreadsheets.

CSV columns

The download is a generic CSV, not a platform-ready import — map the columns (sku, variant_name, option names and values in your dimension order), required fields and variant identifiers to your Shopify, Shoplazza or ERP template, then test a small sample before bulk import.

Frequently asked

Any common rules for SKU codes?

The usual scheme is "base style + abbreviated options", hyphen-separated, all caps, no spaces or symbols — e.g. DSHIRT-BLK-M. Stay under ~30 characters for the best scanner, ERP and marketplace compatibility.

How are option values abbreviated?

The first-three-character rule produces Black→BLA and Medium→MED; you can switch to 1 letter, 2 letters or the full value, and enter a custom code such as Black=BLK when needed. Chinese values are converted to a pinyin-initials style code. Check generated codes for collisions before export.

How many dimensions and variants are supported?

Up to 3 dimensions (color, size, material…) and practically ~2000 combinations — far beyond typical listings. Generation is instant; split the CSV when a platform import caps row counts.

Will the CSV import straight into my platform?

This is a generic CSV, not a platform-ready import. Map columns, required fields and variant identifiers to the target template, then test a small sample before bulk import.

What if some variants already exist?

Treat the existing SKU as the base and keep generating, then delete duplicate rows before exporting. The tool doesn't dedupe — your inventory sheet stays the source of truth.
