South Korea plug types & voltage — adapters, 100–240V devices and local sockets
South Korea uses round-pin Type C/F sockets (KSC 8305, shaped like Schuko) at 220 V — but the frequency is 60 Hz, unlike China's 50 Hz.
Sockets & supply
Type C/F round-pin sockets at 220 V — but 60 Hz, so motorised appliances run slightly faster.
From China — your plugs vs local sockets
On the ground
South Korea uses round-pin Type C/F sockets (KSC 8305, shaped like Schuko) at 220 V — but the frequency is 60 Hz, unlike China's 50 Hz.
Uniform 220 V/60 Hz nationwide; unearthed Type C outlets coexist with earthed Type F, and hotels often mix both.
What to pack
Pack a Euro C/F adapter; no transformer needed at 220 V. The 60 Hz mains only affects motors and mechanical timers (they run slightly faster) — chargers don't care.
Older Type C outlets have no earth, so a grounded device loses its earth there — that's expected, not a broken adapter.
Wide-voltage (INPUT 100–240V) chargers and power bricks work anywhere; single-voltage heating appliances (hairdryers, kettles) need a transformer when voltages differ. Country data cannot certify a device — check the nameplate.
