Germany plug types & voltage — adapters, 100–240V devices and local sockets

Germany uses Type F (Schuko) round-pin sockets with side earth clips, at 230 V/50 Hz.

From China — your plugs vs local sockets

Adapter Some devices need an adapter. Buy: an adapter to Type F, or a universal adapter.
Voltage 220 V → 230 V: close enough — no transformer needed.
Frequency 50 Hz → 50 Hz: nothing to worry about.

On the ground

Germany uses Type F (Schuko) round-pin sockets with side earth clips, at 230 V/50 Hz.

Uniform nationwide; a few unearthed Type C outlets remain, but Schuko dominates.

What to pack

Chinese Euro-style round-pin (C) plugs fit directly; flat-pin and angled Type I plugs need an adapter. At 230 V — essentially China's voltage — no transformer is needed.

Type C plugs are ungrounded by design; grounded three-pin devices should use a proper earthed Schuko adapter.

Wide-voltage (INPUT 100–240V) chargers and power bricks work anywhere; single-voltage heating appliances (hairdryers, kettles) need a transformer when voltages differ. Country data cannot certify a device — check the nameplate.
