Vietnam plug types & voltage — adapters, 100–240V devices and local sockets
Vietnamese homes mostly have unearthed hybrid sockets accepting flat-pin (A) and round-pin (C) plugs; Schuko-style outlets appear occasionally in the north. Mains is 220 V, 50 Hz.
Sockets & supply
Types A/C hybrid sockets dominate; most accept flat and round pins; 220 V. E/F plugs fit but get no earth.
From China — your plugs vs local sockets
On the ground

220 V nationwide; commercial buildings sometimes use hybrid sockets accepting A, B and C — the B earth pin usually connects to nothing.
What to pack
Chinese flat-pin and Euro plugs work in most sockets; only the angled Type I needs an adapter. A universal adapter is still worth packing for older northern buildings and guesthouses.
Type E/F plugs insert into Vietnamese hybrid sockets without any earth contact — grounded devices need an earthed adapter on an earthed outlet.
Wide-voltage (INPUT 100–240V) chargers and power bricks work anywhere; single-voltage heating appliances (hairdryers, kettles) need a transformer when voltages differ. Country data cannot certify a device — check the nameplate.
