The previous illuminated logo used light from the display's backlight. The new ‌MacBook Pro‌ features a "PROLED XDR Display." OLED displays illuminate individual pixels without a separate backlight, so the new model requires a different approach to lighting the logo.

The new ‌MacBook Pro‌ starts at $2,899 for the 14-inch model and $3,399 for the 16-inch model. Related Roundup: MacBook Pro Buyer's Guide: MacBook Pro (Buy Now) Related Forum: MacBook Pro
